Data Wrangler

What is a Data Wrangler and what do we do:

The data wrangler is the camera department crew member who works under the DIT and is responsible for making sure that all footage recorded on camera, is backed up safely through methodical and careful process and that 100% data integrity is displayed over several hard drive back ups.


The Data Wrangler is responsible for generating paper trails for all Media that is recorded (Video & Sound), e.g: clip reports, Daily Data reports, 

Also, on bigger Features, the Data wrangler will do all transcoding (Converting RAW video files into smaller files that are easier and more managable for post / VFX to process) of footage.

We use various Software programs, all depending on exact requirements for the Production.
